Job Summary

Job Summary: Working as the Maintenance Supervisor, you will direct the maintenance crew and provide mechanical assistance to all buildings within the university campus properties. You will oversee repairs, maintain and assist in any problem solving issues of the mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems for the university.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, mentorship, supervision, and training to assigned supervisory facilities maintenance and trades operations

• Plan, organize, control, and direct operations and activities in the preventative, scheduled, and responsive maintenance of all SSC led facilities

• Inspect completed projects for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements and specifications. Assure that related functions align with all applicable laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Assist with the preparation and submission of various reports, including the long-range facility plan, five-year construction plan, and scheduled maintenance program

• Participate in the screening and interview process to hire new employees, recommend transfers, reassignment, and disciplinary action when necessary

• Develop and maintain annual departmental budgets. Review, monitor, and evaluate budgets and financial data of all areas supervised

• Maintain open communication and provide clients with flexibility and responsiveness, ensuring their needs are met with agility and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required, supplemented with technical school training or equivalent work experience

• Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations

• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form

• Must be able to troubleshoot/fix various problems or issues

• Must have clean driving record & a valid Non-CDL Class C Driver's Licence
