Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor (1804481) Southfield, MI Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to provide direct supervision to the BASF Southfield Maintenance team by developing and maintaining a high morale, cooperative, and satisfied work environment.

In addition, you will serve as the primary point-of-contact for all maintenance services provided to the laboratories and offices at the Southfield, MI site. Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success Leveraging your educational background in Maintenance/Engineering and your professional experience as a supervisor, you will lead the development and execution of maintenance goals. Your strong commitment to workplace safety will be a valued asset as you provide Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leadership to maintenance team members, and ensure they are aware of and in full compliance with all safety rules and regulations.

In addition, you will ensure that all facilities are in compliance. By setting clear goals and vision for the maintenance team, you will ensure efficient use and sustainability of maintenance processes, including notification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution, and post-task assessment of effectiveness. Leading a cross-functional team, you will lead the development of a resource allocation schedule based on negotiated priorities.

As a role model, you will drive the development of maintenance goals by coaching and advising team members in their daily performance as well as supporting their career development. Driving strategic decisions for the businesses, you will adhere to and participate in the development of long-term, cost effective, and sustainable maintenance strategies. Leveraging your analytical thinking, interpersonal communication, work management, and entrepreneurial skills, you will support and implement continuous improvement methodologies, such as LEAN, to maintenance work processes that result in an improvement in safety, asset reliability, waste elimination, and cost efficiency.

Successfully engaging across the organization, you will liaise with contract services and contractors and meet with representatives to ensure optimal use of maintenance resources, and share maintenance best practices between BASF plants, both within and outside of NC/WS. Your organization skills will be essential as you will manage mobile equipment on-site, including training and maintenance required by OSHA and BASF for aerial lifts and forklifts. Demonstrating your experience in budgeting, you will be responsible for maintenance budget development, management, and monitoring to ensure BASF assets are managed efficiently and cost effectively.

Your solid mechanical, planning, scheduling, and coordination skills will be vital as you maintain an effective Preventive Maintenance (PM) program in SAP to effectively keep equipment running at maximum uptime with minimum number and frequency of unplanned outages.
