KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Cementation USA, Inc. is looking for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of underground and site mechanical equipment related to the project. Following are some general responsibilities associated with this position:

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all project personnel are adequately trained in their job responsibilities, understands the company policies and work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Leads by example by being safety conscious and promotes the safe performance of the work

  • Assign job tasks to the mechanics, welders and other employees and monitor progress throughout the shifts

  • Ensure the project lock out procedure is strictly adhered to at all times

  • Ensure proper procedures are in place for mechanical duties

  • Ensure tradesman have a good understanding of the mechanical systems, mechanical procedures and maintenance programs

  • Prepare specifications and initiate procurement and properly store adequate inventories of required equipment and parts

  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.

  • Accountable for the maintenance of a safe working environment in all areas of responsibility, ensuring safe work practices and good housekeeping are followed at all times

  • Ensures the ongoing productivity of mechanical crews by providing a safe work environment with proper manpower, tools and equipment to do the job in a safe efficient manner

  • Manage and oversee the preventative maintenance program

  • Follow all installation and preventive maintenance procedures to ensure the safe efficient operation of all mechanical equipment

  • Ensure trainees or workers with lesser experience are placed with experienced safety conscious workers and that the leaders on the shift are aware of these situations and are held responsible for their training

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal maintenance training

  • 15+ years (min.) of relevant Mechanical/Maintenance experience, preferably in an underground mining, infrastructure, or shaft design environment

  • 5+ Years in a supervisor/superintendent role

  • Strong sills in maintenance planning and project management

  • Work with minimal supervision

Superintendent - Renovations A Superintendent at KATERRA Renovations manages projects in the field, supervising on-site project activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production * Review all scope documents with Project Manager (PM) prior to job start * Set up and maintain all site logistics with the assistance of the PM * Receive and inspect all material deliveries and notify the PM of any discrepancies * Inventory materials on a schedule as required by the project type * Perform material procurement as required * Document conditions, issues and progress in a daily log using Procore * Notify PM of material needs as required so that orders can be placed in a proactive and timely manner * Visit with property management and onsite maintenance daily or as needed * Participate in pre-construction meeting * Builds relationships and rapport with subcontractors and onsite staff * Manages subcontractor performance issues in a professional and respectful manner * Review subcontractor invoices with PM for accurate and complete sub draw submissions * Demonstrated commitment to diversity, learning and successfully working in multicultural environments Workflow * Create and continually update the daily work plan * Identify materials needed by using a three day look ahead and by reviewing the project schedule * Meet daily with subcontractors to review work plan * Walk jobsite daily to inspect current conditions, progress and issues * Ensure work is progressing throughout the day relative to the daily work plan * Pre-walk new work with the on-site client rep to identify conditions, scope compliance and potential changes * Communicate scope changes and submit to PM * Ensure that changes in scope are not performed prior to proper approval and signatures * Perform client punch walks Quality * Maintain a clean and organized jobsite * Ensure all work completed is properly inspected and performed correctly prior to review with the client * Evaluate subcontractor skillsets on a regular basis Safety * Inspect equipment used for to safety program and standards * Ensure all equipment is clean and stored in approved locations * Conduct weekly safety meetings with all subcontractors Required Skills and Experience * Three or more years' experience in Construction Management * Valid Driver's License * Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal and external partners * Computer skills required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and iPAD device * Computer skills preferred: Proficiency with Sage or similar construction management programs * Education Minimum: High School degree or equivalent * Education Preferred: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university * Required Certifications: 30 hour OSHA certification within 60 days of hire * Preferred Certifications: PMI certification * Preferred Language skills: Conversational Spanish Physical & Mental Abilities Required Physical: * The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands and arms, talk or hear, drive a car, and use basic office electronics (computer, telephone) Mental: * Critical thinking, judgment, decision-making, follow-up, social awareness, mathematics, reading writing, organizational, timeliness, stress tolerance, communication (oral and written) Work Environment & Travel * Up to 100% of the job involves walking construction sites to inspect work progress, quality and safety compliance.
