Summary
AMG Vanadium LLC (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join our team at our Zanesville, Ohio plant. This position will plan, direct, and monitor the overall operation of the Maintenance Department and has accountability for ensuring that the plant facilities, equipment, and facility infrastructure are maintained and operated in an efficient, safe, and reliable manner. The Maintenance Superintendent establishes department goals, provides direction, guidance, and development opportunities for all Maintenance employees, and ensures that production employees are trained on basic preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Lead by example and comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements and Company policies, and procedures, including AMGs Code of Business Conduct
Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster a positive, respectful work environment that is aligned with AMGs values; promote a culture of safety compliance, environmental responsibility, and employee engagement
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the maintenance and repair of plant facilities, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility
Work closely with Operations leadership to coordinate required maintenance activities with production departments to ensure maximum equipment uptime, minimize plant downtime and disruptions, and achieve operational excellence
Work closely with Plant Engineering on capital projects; coordinate and manage needed support from outside contractors and equipment manufacturers
Work closely with Plant Safety and Environmental Management to ensure that the highest standards of safety and environmental safe guards are always developed and maintained; ensures grounds, buildings, equipment, machines, processes, service and repairs are following all relevant OSHA and EPA regulations, industry codes and or standards; ensures all required tests, evaluations, and assessments are performed on schedule and immediately addresses any issues or deficiencies discovered in this process
Develop, implement, and work with Engineering and Operations leadership on the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) process to ensure effectiveness in supporting the reliability of plant operations
Lead, develop and mentor team members; ensure required Company training is current
Instill a mindset of continuous improvement and problem solving in your team
Utilize Lean principles to optimize processes, systems, people and equipment
Qualifications/Skills/Requirements
Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial related field of study
Minimum of 5 years experience required in maintenance supervisory role in manufacturing environment; melt shop/foundry experience a plus
Knowledge of and experience in a Preventative Maintenance Program required
Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification a plus
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles a plus; demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement
Strong mechanical aptitude, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
Results focused; ability to set and achieve goals with a constant focus on safety and risk factors
Ability to coach and mentor others
Team player having the ability to foster team spirit with employees
Ability to adapt easily to change and lead others through it
Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization and follow through skills
Ability to work flexible hours as required
Possess a thorough understanding of relevant industry codes, OSHA, and EPA regulations
Proficient in key Microsoft and Maintenance software systems
