POSITION SUMMARY: With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to, chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, hydraulic electrical, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train and steering systems. The Maintenance Technician B may also perform basic tire work, such as replacement, tire rotation, and tread depth checks. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Maintains a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in, the following vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform preventative and repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road.

  • Chassis component repair and maintenance.

  • Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.

  • Engine repair and maintenance.

  • Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.

  • Heating and air conditioning.

  • Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.

  • Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure that the Company's equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Identifies the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.

  • Completes applicable Company training programs.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.

  • Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships.

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.

  • Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.

  • Valid Driver's License.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair or will be graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.

  • Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: suspensions & steering; general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.

Job Title: Maintenance Mold Technician - 2nd Shift (3pm-11:30pm M-F) Job Summary: The maintenance mold technician will complete required PM and repairs on the client's facility equipment. This position will be crossed trained and utilize a "flow to the work" concept. The successful technician will be an excellent communicator and have exceptional follow up capabilities. The technician will exhibit an ownership attitude. This is a 2nd shift position M-F from 3:00pm-11:30pm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs preventive maintenance activities on facility following written instructions. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of expendables (i.e. belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration. * Analyzes findings during PM and recommends changes to PM content based upon findings. Documents PM activities within the CMMS. Completes assigned work orders and documents completion within the CMMS. * Completes repairs including rebuilding of pumps, steam traps, valves, electrical and pneumatic solenoid devices * Completes general building repairs, including repair and painting of walls, doors, floors, etc. * Completes repairs to plumbing system including fixing leaks and stoppages, repairs or replacement of sinks, piping, valves or drains. * Repairs and maintains controls, lighting, and electrical distribution systems. * Replaces lighting components, ceiling tiles, and grid throughout the buildings. * Performs shift "rounds" using a checklist to document performance characteristics (i.e., operation modes, pressures, temperatures, RPM, etc.) of facility systems and equipment. * Communicates directly with the customer and site lead in assuring that all aspects of a work request are understood, that parts must be ordered, or that requested completion date will be delayed for any reason not discovered during the conversion of the work request into a work order. * Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables. * Maintains building lighting, task lighting on furniture systems, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120 volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior bldg lighting and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system. * Performs PM & repairs on dock equipment – Overhead doors, dock levelers, dock locks and seals * Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the Site Manager Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED required. * Two to five years mechanical experience required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience. * Two to five years mechanical experience required - Hands on experience disassembling and assembling molds. Need to be able to break a tire mold, drill holes, lubricate, replace warranty parts and other bad parts and reassemble the mold. * OSHA10 preferred * Valid driver's license required * Fork truck operator's license, JLG operator's license - preferred * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
