POSITION SUMMARY: A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties.


  • Safely and efficiently perform assigned responsibilities to include such duties as: o Clean up work areas; o Fuel vehicles and equipment; o Clean track on track type and related equipment; o Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up; o Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks, pick up trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.; o Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work; o Install temporary wind fences, as required; o Direct traffic at the site as necessary; and o Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION This position will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and janitorial duties at various recreation centers across the City. JOB SUMMARY This job is located in the City of Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department. This position is responsible for performing unskilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks. Typical duties include: performing a variety of tasks related to the cleaning and building maintenance of City facilities; emptying wastebaskets, trash, and recycle containers; replenishing supplies such as toilet paper, soap products, paper towels, etc.; inspecting building/equipment for needed repairs and maintenance; performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs; and the proficient and safe operation of manual or power equipment and tools, consistent with the assigned occupational trade and the worker's prior experience and training. The necessary license or certification to perform specific tasks must be acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position. Other Notes NOTE: This position performs duties that may require local travel; therefore, a valid driver license (Operator) is required. NOTE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application for part-time/seasonal employment and must pass a post-offer drug test and health screen as administered by the City of Oklahoma City.
