About the DNR Law Enforcement Division:

The DNR Law Enforcement Division ensures that patrons observe the rules, regulations, and safety guidelines of Indiana parks and associated properties. They also provide educational programming such as boating, hunting, off-roading, snowmobiling, and trapping safety courses.

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Repair Supervisor is responsible for supervising and assigning daily tasks to salaried maintenance and intermittent staff, overseeing facility maintenance, and performing preventative maintenance and complex and general repairs to facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role focuses on ground maintenance, inventory, mechanical, electrical, and janitorial projects. This role will be working on the equipment inside of Law Enforcement vehicles and applying decals on trucks and boats. This role will assist in putting together orders (clothing and equipment) as requested from different districts. Self-motivation is critical for this role.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues.

  • Maintain service and maintenance records.

  • Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy.

  • Repair buildings and structures.

  • Assist with snow removal.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

  • Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs.

  • Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records.

  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and provide self-motivation.

  • Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects.

  • Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
