General purpose of the job

Investigate chronic and repetitive maintenace operation problems using root-cause analysis and problem solving, research history, work with other departments to find the optimum solution, communicate and develop the implementation of the solution within a scheduled period with limited interruption to plant's production requirements. Support the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as predictive maintenance tool to detect important events in the earliest age and implement the corrective actions involve minimum time and effort for the plant.

Individual accountabilities

  • Develop scope of work, engineering and detail work requirements for improvement work orders.

  • Develop cost projections for improvement work.

  • Design and implement projects from the construction phase to the completed project.

  • Develop new equipment files as it relates to new installations.

  • Develop equipment parts catalog for all new equipment.

  • Maintain an equipment specification database to serve as a tool in support of the continual improvement inspection and planning functions.

  • Participate in the developement of the annual maintenance dept. budget to enhance reliability, equipment availability and reduction of cost for maintenance operations.

  • Develop and maintain an improvement project backlog within the SAP.

  • Develop strategies to improve AI implementation as a predictive maintenance tool.

  • Lead the team in investigations of chronic problems, research, design and implementation of improvement solutions using root-cause analysis.

  • Lead the continuous improvement program for maintenance.

  • Research new methods and programs to improve equipment reliability, expected life span of equipment and reduce maintenance cost.

  • Participate in the Maintenance Supervisor On-Call Program.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Technical knowledge and certifications

  • Five (5)+ years' maintenance experience in heavy industrial or continuous manufacturing field OR

  • Five plus years' experience in Cement Manufacturing or similar industry

  • Previous experience as a planner
