The primary role of the MPS (Maintenance Planner/Scheduler)is to be responsible for the procurement of materials, services, and supplies, contacts suppliers, secures bids, and reviews bids with supervisor before placing orders.


  • Receive purchase requests and enter into system to route for purchase order approval.

  • Create part item masters and maintain changes to item master database.

  • Determine which supplier will provide best value for parts utilizing national supplier list and other suppliers found in the database and make recommendation to manager.

  • Identify new suppliers and submit new supplier requests to Corporate for approval

  • Assist with request for quotations (RFQ), follow-up on bids and make recommendation to manager.

  • Research and obtain quotes for products as needed.

  • Maintain excel spreadsheets to track departmental goals monthly


  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 1 year customer facing work experience.

  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

  • Demonstrated successful ability to perform accurate work under the pressures of tight schedules.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with external customers.


  • Prior purchasing experience

  • Experience working with Oracle

  • Previous Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and/or Request for Quotation (RFQ) experience.
