Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

This position occupies a key role in the manufacturing team of the production unit or line in Motion NEMA Motors in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance jobs making sure essential materials are provided prior to the jobs starting. Also, in this role, you will be responsible for procurement of necessary MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operating) supplies as well as maintain accurate inventory in stock room. The objective of this position is to reduce downtime through the effective procurement of MRO products and scheduling of maintenance work orders.
Your responsibilities
Establish an inventory control system that will provide the necessary availability of spare parts and procurement of special purchases to maintain asset reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
Responsible for planning maintenance material requirements and expediting material as needed
Set up and continuously improve critical spare parts inventory including but not limited to: Developing minimum and maximum stocking levels for MRO parts based on lead times and where used to ensure inventory levels on critical items are adequate
Process stock orders in SAP to ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained
Physically procure items from local vendors via phone calls and in person travel when situations require it
Stock received inventory into appropriate locations and perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure data integrity
Report and investigate stockouts daily
Plan and schedule maintenance PMs (Preventive Maintenances), safety work orders and routine maintenance work orders daily
Responsible for coordinating with maintenance and production leadership to schedule activities of maintenance team to ensure customer expectations are met and minimal interruptions to production
Ensure we are meeting PM compliance by scheduling work on time and working cross functionally with appropriate team members
Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track and report department metrics v/s department goals and prepare weekly and monthly reports as requested by leadership team in a timely manner
Implement pre kitting of materials for planned jobs
Your background
High School Diploma / GED with minimum 4 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 2 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Experience Includes: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 2 years of experience in materials planning, scheduling, purchasing or warehouse
Working knowledge of SAP with background in BUS for maintenance and material planning.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Must be willing to attend classes for additional job related training
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
