The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a 3-6 MONTH position in the La Porte, Texas area:MAINTENANCE PLANNER4 X 10 + OT as neededMajor Job Functions:Provide maintenance planning support to the plant maintenance department by:SAP maintenance work orders:* * Enter, update, and track work orders. * Charge parts used out of inventory to work orders. * Manage the work order system to provide planning guidance to the maintenance department.SAP preventive maintenance (PM) work orders:* * Enter, update, and track PM work orders. * Charge parts used out of inventory to PM work orders. * Manage the PM work order system to provide planning guidance to the maintenance department. * Write all components necessary to create new PM work orders. * Ensure that the PM work order system is in compliance with ISO and Mechanical Integrity requirements at all times.Maintenance related purchase orders:* * Manage the plant inventory to ensure adequate supplies of engineering stores for optimum plant operation. * Buy parts using purchase orders (PO), PO Generator PO's, ad hoc PO's, and credit cards, to ensure adequate and timely stores for optimum plant operation. * Receive parts, physically and into SAP, to ensure accurate accounting of engineering stores at all times. * Provide planning guidance and recommendations to the plant maintenance department with regard to engineering stores.Engineering Stores and Inventory:* * Own and champion the plant engineering stores and process. * Conduct weekly cycle counts to ensure accurate accounting of engineering stores at all times. * Purchase all parts within authorization in a timely manner to ensure adequate and timely stores for optimum plant operation. * Provide periodic reports on the value of the engineering stores inventory, with explanations for variances. * Provide purchasing recommendations to the plant maintenance department as necessary to ensure adequate and timely stores for optimum plant operation. * Provide reports as necessary to the plant maintenance department and other departments as to the status of engineering stores purchasing.Maintenance Planning:* * Own and champion the maintenance planning process. * Prepare for, administrate, conduct, and follow up on monthly, weekly, and daily maintenance planning meetings, as necessary to minimize work order backlog and maximize department efficiency. * Provide timely and accurate guidance to the maintenance department regarding planned work. * Ensure parts are available for all planned, routine, and repetitive work. * Provide reports as necessary to the plant maintenance and production departments regarding production equipment downtime requirements and schedule.Administrative Duties and Personal Conduct:* * Work at all times safely and efficiently to achieve zero lost time and recordable accidents, both personally and as a team. * Conduct safety and technical training to others as assigned. * Participate in all maintenance department team functions, including but not limited to work planning meetings, team safety training and meetings, confined space rescue exercises, and others meetings as requested or assigned. * Be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if requested or required. * Drive continuous improvement of the maintenance department by staying current in your knowledge of maintenance and reliability technologies, techniques, best practices, and trends.ISO 9001 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:Ensure the Maintenance Department operates in compliance with the company's ISO 9001 quality program. * Ensure that department requirements of the International Standard and quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained. * Ensure that processes and procedures are delivering their intended output. * Communicate, demonstrate, and promote customer focus throughout the department.Required Skills and abilities:Ability to use standard measuring tools including tape measures, micrometers etcMust have basic understanding of industrial electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipmentAbility to use spreadsheet and word processor software i.e. Microsoft OfficeMust be able to sit, stand for long periods of time, climb ladders and stairs, work with arms overhead and lift up to 50 lbs during the course of the day.Required Education and Experience:The preferred candidate will have:A technical background in industrial maintenance, including 2 years of experience planning industrial maintenance work.A minimum of 2 years of college in an applicable field of study, preferably a bachelor's degree in engineering.The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required.
