Maintenance Planner
General Function:
The Maintenance Planner manages specific activities relating to the supply crib parts and the computerized maintenance system functions, as well as internal and external communication to execute the requirements. The CMS coordinator job functions are listed below. The backup to this position is as follows: Maintenance Supervisor would take up the maintenance scheduling duties and critical parts ordering while the Supply Crib Inventory Control Tech should pick up non-critical parts ordering:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates urgent orders for top priority work orders (down and running impaired) equipment every day, pulls together teams to create solutions when timing of parts does not meet customer demand
Supports the supply crib by recommending updates to be made to spare parts stock based on PM's, work orders, changing lead times, etc.
Enters new supply crib items and new equipment (assets) into the Supply Crib and PLEX system or current Supply Crib Software
All scheduled work coordination including issuance, scheduling through production, follow-up to completion and system entry
Estimates man hours, required downtime, and scheduling of any scheduled work requests
Communicates upcoming scheduled work orders to Value Streams at least 48 hrs. prior and follows up after completion checking why it was not done or if it was completed satisfactorily
Improves PM tasks by implementing preventive and predictive methods
Orders materials required to carry out projects assigned
Work order coordination to system procedures
Coordinates asset information both active and obsolete for any asset changes (removal, upgrade, etc.)
Computerized maintenance system tracking and reporting as needed (e.g., crib inventory reports, PM comp)
Researches and cross references items from manufacturer to manufacturer (technical disposition) to resource stock crib stock items
Attends Value Stream tiered communication meetings daily
Reporting as assigned
Organizes outside contractors as needed for PM or other service work
Works with outside vendors to identify and source parts
Provides support for supply crib parts distribution
Follows all plant safety policies
Responsible for supporting 5S improvements in maintenance areas and the supply crib and driving 5S in the scheduled/in process work racks
Coordinates assistance from supply crib attendants and facilitates in their development
Forklift certified
Trained in handling and disposal of hazardous waste, forklift, RCRA training
Develops Gantt chart for shutdown planning using excel or other software
Must track machine downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM's, and others as needed
Qualification Requirements:
Proficient in the use of computers - required
Use of Microsoft Word, Excel - required
Excellent written and verbal communication - required
Use of Microsoft Outlook - preferred
Use of PLEX - preferred
Proficient at using Fork Trucks - required
3 years experience as Maintenance Mechanic - preferred
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical/Vocational Training Certificate in Plumbing, Welding, Electrical, Hydraulics & Mechanical preferred
3+ years' experience as Maintenance Mechanic preferred
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals
Ability to read and understand reports, purchase orders, bill of ladings, shipment tracking documents and other PLEX / MRO related documentation
Ability to learn plant purchasing policies and procedures

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job the employee will be:
Sitting at Computer, Standing, Walking, Bending, Lifting and using Stairs to issue items to employees
Standing, Walking, Bending, Lifting and using Stairs to place replacement stock in Supply Crib
Maximum lifting will be 40 pounds
All Work will be on concrete floor
Work Environment:
Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes
The facility is temperature controlled; the normal temperature is approximately 68F during the winter and 85F during the summer
Daily work involves working with grease, oils and other manufacturing related chemicals
