Under the direction of the Manager of Maintenance Systems, the Maintenance Planner Supervisor is a working leader role where the successful individual will act as a Maintenance Planner within the plant as well as supervise, mentor and develop the subordinate Planners. The position is responsible to ensure that needed follow on corrective and emergency work is supported with parts, job plans, and work descriptions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing prospective employees; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
The Planner Supervisor's typical day will involve writing work orders or preventative maintenance plans, developing Bill of Materials, reporting on maintenance activities /metrics, ordering parts or service for preventative or corrective maintenance, and supporting the other planners as needed.
Supervises all functions of the maintenance planning to ensure safe, timely and efficient maintenance of production and/or facility equipment or area.
Main responsibilities include planning corrective work, ordering parts required for equipment repair, tracking and receiving parts and service, issuing parts, updating Bill of Material, creating preventative maintenance plans, monitoring upcoming work orders, releasing them, and following up as needed.
May be called upon to support root cause analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, or Criticality assessments for equipment or parts.
Training and developing maintenance Planners on SAP, Work Order Process, flow, Maintenance SOPs and standards, etc.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of a unit.
Responsible for department safety and training.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
High level ability to interact with CMMS system (SAP) to a Train the Trainer level.
Mechanical aptitude and understanding; able to develop job plans / work instructions
Technical Writing and communication skills
Requires basic knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field. Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other peers.
Judgement is required in resolving all day-to-day problems.
Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
04-06 years related experience required.
Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.
