Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler who is responsible for maintenance planning. Additionally, advance the completion of work in maintenance by planning, scheduling, and coordinating inventory availability and/or work orders. Ensure we have the proper materials, parts, procedures, special tools/equipment, and required personnel and skills are ready and available. Also, provide systems documentation to assure planning, closeout, account costing, evaluation, and control. We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced Maintenance Planner and Scheduler. The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler will work on-site at the Tuscola, IL plant.
How You Will Make an Impact
In this role, your primary duty will be to plan the required steps, sequence of events, and arranges for materials needed for completion of work. Hold planning, scheduling, and status meetings with supervisors. Conduct field reviews as required. Prepare and establish times for work progressing through the departments, identify bottlenecks and recommend remedies. This role requires a safety mind-set, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, a ton of good energy, effective time management, organization, and record-keeping skills. A successful candidate will be someone who can:
Plan the required steps, sequence of events, and arranges for materials needed for completion work.
Develop work schedule to meet established deadlines, taking into account any work carry-over, unscheduled items, and then distribute. Notify management when any prescribed priority or time frame is affected.
Identify recurring maintenance issues and coordinates activity around resolving these issues with leadership.
Responsible for monitoring maintenance status vs. the plan and expedite as necessary to establish priorities to maintain manufacturing schedules and overall efficiency of operations.
Monitor and manage business management system and work order system that supports inventory and maintenance. Ensures that work order documentation of work performed, and parts used is maintained.
Review all completed work orders for quality and accuracy, revising estimates and updating as required for future use.
Communicate, schedule, and generate purchase order requisitions for contractor resources. Assist with development of job scope for contractors, monitor contractor performance, function as the point of contact for contractors.
May lift heavy items up to 50lbs. and operate forklift, pallet handler and similar equipment.
Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care and ISO Management Systems in line with the requirements of the RC14001 and ISO9001 technical specifications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring to Cabot
High School diploma/GED required. Associate degree in technical or business discipline preferred. Experience in operations/maintenance management a plus.
Minimum of five years working in a manufacturing environment in a planning and scheduling capacity.
Works Safely. Familiar with topics such as Process Safety Management, safe work permitting, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard awareness.
Effective time management, organizational, and record keeping skills as well as detailed oriented. Skilled in computer programs, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized maintenance management systems such as JDE and purchasing (COUPA), and internet-based ordering.
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Self-motivated with a track of dependability. Self-directed with daily tasks and able to delegate tasks
Communication & Presentation Skills. Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise, clear, and relevant while delivering with empathy with a broad range of stakeholders. Active listening skills.
Strong financial management skills. Ability to influence/persuade others. Able to remain claim and react effectively in critical situations.
Knowledge of chemical manufacturing process equipment, troubleshooting, process control, and process improvements. Strong wide-ranging technical skills in mechanical, instrumentation, utility, and electrical systems.
Physical requirements include but not limited to climbing stairs and ladders, standing, or sitting for extended periods, outdoor work including walking on different surfaces, ability to left up to 50lbs.
