The Department of Facilities and Fleet, Buildings and Grounds Division is seeking a candidate for our Maintenance and Operations Supervisor position. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain front line management experience within a commercial facilities maintenance operation.

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join a dynamic group that specializes in innovative, responsible, safe, and environmentally sound facility maintenance practices. Buildings and Grounds employees are essential personnel.

The candidate selected for hire must pass health physical and Police background check to include a drug test, fingerprinting, credit check, and employment verification. This position is part of Essential Personnel and will be required to work evenings and weekends.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As a front-line leader within the Maintenance unit, you will model and ensure high performance and customer service delivery consistent with the agency's mission, vision, and values. Buildings & Grounds employees are essential personnel.

This position supervises the day-to-day operations in assigned areas, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, costs, procedures, systems, and standards. You will also supervise staff members and contractors to include prioritizing and assigning work; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures. You will promote the safety and efficiency of equipment by coordinating and conducting inspections, repairs, maintenance, and the operation of equipment and vehicles. This is a hands-on supervisor position.

In addition, you will perform and coordinate preventative maintenance activities and prepare, maintain, update, and process a variety of records, files, reports, work orders and other related information related to operational activities for assigned area.

PREFERENCES:

The successful candidate will have...

Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Building Automation Systems and Hands-on experience performing maintenance in a commercial building.

Background in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to include invoicing and timesheet, paperwork required.

Experience with Maintenance in commercial buildings

Experience with snow removal.

Supervisory experience.

Experience with HVAC systems

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

Monday thru Friday 37.5 hours a week; Essential Employee, must be able to report to work in emergencies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass a Police Background and have a clean driving record.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $31.18to $37.75
