Industrial Maintenance Mechanic HVAC

Operate machine tools to fabricate parts as necessary. Install and troubleshoot all utilities associated with the manufacturing process. Must be proficient with computer and automated controls.

General Maintenance Mechanic tasks include any activity needed for maintaining the plant facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will perform general maintenance and service functions as required. Duties may include, but are not limited to: mechanical, electrical welding, pipe fitting, HVAC, carpentry and painting.

Install, repair, maintain and fabricate manufacturing equipment and perform other general maintenance and service functions. Duties include, but are not limited to mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, welding, pipefitting, air conditioning, carpentry work and painting.

Perform periodic inspections and tests and report findings. Receives general instructions from supervisors and notice of service required from supervisors and other plant personnel. Works from blueprints, sketches and oral instructions and specifications.

Uses all hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary for completion of assignments. May direct other employees assigned to the job.

Must have a primary skilled trade of HVAC and a secondary skilled trade, one of which must be electrician, carpenter, pipe fitter, maintenance welder or manufacturing machine repair. Must be able to operate material handling equipment and rigging equipment.

Apprenticeship papers, Journeymen's card or 5 years or more of equivalent work experience in a skilled trade discipline is required.

A working knowledge of machine tools and welding is a plus.

US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

Skilled Trade appropriate apprenticeship papers, journeyman's card, trade school diploma or contractor licenses is required. Five or more years of skilled trade work experience is required.

A high school diploma or a GED equivalent is required. The candidate must supply all customary hand tools of the trade and is required to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance. The successful candidate must be able to work independently or in a team.

All candidates must be able to lift, bend and perform the normal activities of a physically challenging position. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance. Obtaining a clearance requires US citizenship.

Desired Skills:

Working knowledge in the electrical maintenance trade. Working knowledge in plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, welding, painting or other building maintenance activities.

Basic computer skills and Equipment troubleshooting knowledge. Working experience with lathes, milling machines and other basic machine shop equipment.

Provide efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all maintenance completion activities, including work order set up/planning, customer satisfaction tracking and technician feedback to ensure gaps identified are managed to closure. Monitor KPI tracking and communicate with work center supervision to ensure compliance. Generates and maintains weekly forward-looking schedule to assist in planning equipment availability. Coordinates with work center supervision to assign work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (D7I). Ensures work is planned to complete per schedule as well as all associated activities closed in CMMS. Works closely with Production & Quality to establish a schedule of maintenance activities to plan for equipment availability ensuring schedule compliance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Includes critical spares, OEM stock and MRO items. Owns the overall effectiveness and reliability of the facilities tool crib stock status. Works closely with tool crib attendant to manage min-max usages and parts ordering Ensures parts and labor information is maintained in work orders accurately and timely including all outside vendor activities Works closely with CMMS admins to develop and expand system as needed Participates in reliability maintenance activities to ensure continuous improvement to overall maintenance operations and expansion into condition-based maintenance processes. This requires US citizenship. Basic Qualifications: Minimum 2 year AS Degree Two years of experience in Planning / Scheduling for facilities maintenance environment. Experience in planning all aspects of maintenance work and materials management. Experience interacting with all facilities general trades including but not limited to HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Labor. Familiar working with INFOR, MAXIMO, emaint or other enterprise CMMS software system. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires US citizenship.
