Pay Class: Full Time/Non-Exempt
Shifts/Availability: Tuesday-Saturday/8:00 am-4:30 pm
Rate: $20.00-$25.00

Position Purpose: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic assists the facility department in providing a clean and safe environment for all members and program participants. The Maintenance Mechanic responds to requests for cleaning and maintenance needs with urgency to ensure quality service in a safe manner.
Responsibilities:
General facilities maintenance -plumbing, electrical, changing light bulbs, etc.
Be proactive in cleaning the facility interior/exterior, and complete cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Room set up/break down as needed.
Grounds and pool maintenance as instructed.
Actively participate in preventative maintenance program.
Follow safety procedures/instructions for cleaning and mixing chemicals.
Adhere to safety and risk management procedures and alert management of any safety violations or risk situations.
Select and use appropriate tools and materials according to job specifications.
Notify supervisor of supplies needed and inventory shortages.
Complete projects according to schedule.
Attend meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum 1 years' experience in the maintenance field
Three years of experience in the facility field preferred
Mechanical and electrical experience preferred
Must be well groomed and have good communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions
Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
