This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for all preventative maintenance including lubrication, adjustments, rebuilds, scheduled service, cleaning and assisting with change overs. Additional responsibilities include maintaining proper housekeeping in work area, working safely and following all plant GMP s.
Candidates must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat and reach throughout an 8 to 12 hour shift. Candidates must be willing and able to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 90 lbs. in many areas of plant. Candidates must be able to work in hot, cold and or damp environments, frequently on slippery walking surfaces.
Corrected 20 20 vision is required to be able to distinguish colors. The position requires basic computer skills and knowledge as well as the ability to identify parts and supplies in order to complete training or assigned tasks.
Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Applicants must show one (1) year of work experience as a maintenance mechanic and have completed a maintenance mechanics program from an accredited technical vocational school or have two (2) years of working experience as a maintenance mechanic preferably in a manufacturing environment.
