Maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, electrical and mechanical systems and plumbing.
Is responsible for operating and maintaining specific equipment, conducting surveys and inventories, performing preventive maintenance activities, responding to customer complaints and repairing equipment.
Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, schematics and written technical machinery documents to troubleshoot areas and make repairs accurately.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
May perform daily chemical tests on water systems and adjust chemical mixtures and feed rates.
Installs wall hung furnishings and equipment.
Maintains related computer databases.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
Sr. Maintenance Mechanic Additional Description
Operates and maintains building facilities, systems and equipment related to plumbing, electricity, HVAC, and steam control.
Operates and maintains building equipment and systems such as vacuum systems, control air systems, building air systems, emergency generators, electrical distribution systems, liquid pumping systems, steam, air handling systems, hot/cold water systems and natural gas and fuel oil systems.
Assigns and schedules work.
Orients and trains staff. Provides guidance to staff to ensure work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintains required record-keeping.
Completion of a related technical school program, OR a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in building maintenance, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural and general carpentry.
Positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist.
Sr. Maintenance Mechanic Additional Minimum Qualifications
Sr. Maintenance Mechanic Requires 3 years of experience in in Commercial/industrial building maintenance, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Hands-on proficiency with commercial HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, structural and general carpentry.
Working knowledge of computer or mobile applications.
Ability to conduct hands-on training for others.
Higher Education or Healthcare Maintenance experience preferred.
