Savage Services has a current opening for a Maintenance Mechanic for our Bonanza, UT operation!

The mechanic will primarily work with their team to repair and maintain tractors and trailers used to transport water to facilities in the Bonanza,Utah area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy and minor repairs on all trucks and trailers

  • Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory

  • Utilize computer based diagnostic systems, skills, knowledge and experience to determine what repairs need to be done and whether it's a warranty issue

  • Occasional tire work

  • Implement a thorough preventative

  • Maintain maintenance program for a fleet of tractors and trailers (crude and flatbed) including: fueling, greasing, changing oil and other fluids and inspecting trucks for needed repairs

  • Accurately record work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures

  • Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of Diesel Mechanic Experience a plus

  • Experience with a variety of trucks a plus

  • Experience with tanker trailers a plus

  • Confidence in repairing suspensions, rear ends, transmissions, air brake systems, minor engine work (injectors, turbos, etc.) and more

  • An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer based systems, being able to visually recognize problems a big plus

  • Class A CDL a plus, but not required

  • Has a vested interest in operational safety

  • Be able to read, write and understand English and follow written and verbal instructions

  • Prepared to help with anything requiring attention

  • Environmental awareness

  • Knowledge and experience using a CMMS is helpful

  • Excellent communication skills: written and spoken

  • Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members

  • Self-starter capable of working independently, in line with company goals, strategies and policies

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion

  • Ability to diagnose, problem solve and execute plans

  • A strong record of continuous improvement, personal development and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Willing to live in or relocate to the Bonanza area

  • Will be on your feet for extended period of time throughout the day

  • Able to lift 100 lbs

  • Navigating the facility will include, but is not limited to, exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks and other high places, ground that can be slick, icy or uneven, and other industrial hazards

  • The work site is an industrial setting and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance to strict OSHA and State regulations

Position Info POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various maintenance functions that are necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community. They work with the maintenance team and management to ensure the quality of work meets the standards set by the owner and resident. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned Perform tasks associated with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and painting Maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems Repair and treat structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls and building exteriors Schedule and complete preventative maintenance Minor pool maintenance Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned Assist with maintenance of grounds such as trash pick-up, sweep sidewalks and light landscaping Make ready units for new move-ins Assure safety practices are used which comply with all company, local, city, state and federal guidelines Follow Bridge policies and procedures and comply with Fair Housing, state and federal laws Regular, on-time attendance Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, painting, masonry and carpentry Working knowledge of HVAC systems Follow oral and written instructions Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and management Available to perform emergency repairs at all times (24 hours/day) Ability to climb up to 40 feet Color vision and the ability to hear SKILLS AND ABILITIES EDUCATION High school graduate or equivalent EXPERIENCE Two years working experience in facility maintenance WORK ENVIRONMENT Inside and outside in all weather conditions Bridge Property Management Naples UT
