Purpose: To provide night shift electrical and mechanical plant maintenance to the facility and all process equipment to ensure continued ethanol production.
Pacific Ethanol is the leading producer and marketer of low-carbon renewable fuels in the Western United States. With the addition of four Midwestern ethanol plants in July 2015, we have expanded our operations and sales footprint, more than doubling our scale, entering new markets, and expanding our mission to become the industry leader in the production and marketing of low carbon renewable fuels.
The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition; and, management may modify this job description as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for production, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
Examines, tests and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms. Checks for visual defects.
Makes preventive maintenance check and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily production report.

High School diploma or equivalent
4 year degree or equivalent experience in related field
Some electrical experience preferred
Excellent organizational skills
Detailed oriented and multi-tasking is a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn data entry
Valid Driver's license
Able to walk, stand and move around the plant facility freely.
Able to climb stairs and ladders to check equipment and gauges and to work on equipment.
Able to use hands to handle, feel objects; use tools, work with controls and gauges; must be able to reach.
Able to kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl around equipment to do work.
Able to hear equipment and determine problems.
Work in hot and cold weather conditions.
Sit at a desk for part of the day to write reports.
Must have good vision and be able to see clearly in close and distant situations; and distinguish colors.
Able to communicate with others by phone and in person, in noisy conditions.
Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds alone.
Able to deal with high stress situations.
