POSITION INFO:

JOB TYPE: Hourly

SHIFT: 12 hour rotation, 7 p.m.-7 a.m.

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Coordinator

LOCATION: Greensboro

PERFORMANCE SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general and preventive maintenance work of machines, equipment, building, and plant facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for general maintenance work of mechanical equipment, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, quench conveyors, quench tanks, water leaks, etc.

• Demonstrated knowledge of MiG welding, Stick Welding, Plasma cutting, cutting torch use.

• Demonstrated knowledge of Metal Shear use, Press Brake use, and punch press use.

• Assists plant service specialist in mechanical and electrical work as required.

• Working knowledge of all plant utilities, locations, and color coding for servicing.

• Knowledge of OSHA standards which are required for proper installations and work for compliance of regulations.

• Utilize fall-arrest system to perform work at heights greater than 4 feet.

• Responsible for housekeeping of work area.

• Responsible for safety of oneself and others.

• Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of two years in maintenance field desired. Must maintain a good attendance record, have necessary tools, and strong ability/knowledge in at least one phase of maintenance work.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Work-Ready Certificate a plus

• Basic Electrical

• Pneumatic

• Hydraulic

• Computers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

• Subject to standing for extended period of time (12 hour shifts)
• Temperature extremes of up to 110 degrees in peak summer months
