Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Assists Facility Manager and JLL team in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment

  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.


  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts

  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment

  • General interior maintenance hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems

  • Minor plumbing repairs

  • Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned.

  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested

  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.

  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.

  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.

  • Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

  • Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

  • Other assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of the Maintenance Mechanic role.


  • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

  • Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, have a minimum of one (3) years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.

  • Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and have excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures.

  • Successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently or in a team environment.

  • Must complete background

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of three (3) years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.

  • Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable

  • Must have computer skills

When the development is complete in mid-2019, Seminole Hard Rock will be home to an iconic guitar hotel tower that will include a Hard Rock Casino, nearly doubling its current size with 3,267 slot machines, 178 table games plus a new 18,000-square-foot poker room. For more information please visit Responsibilities Under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for adjusting, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining all kitchen equipment and refrigeration systems. Duties include, but are not limited to: Essential Job Functions: * Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures. * Performs all preventive maintenance on kitchen and refrigeration systems and maintains applicable log books. * Conducts walk-through inspections and performs routine maintenance of walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, dish washer, mixers, ovens, stoves, and all other related equipment. Changes water filters and repairs minor air and water leaks. * Maintains quality of air, air flow and temperature at on and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system. * Uses Freon gauges and safely recharges or evacuates Freon from equipment. Records gauge readings, repairs completed and time lost due to inoperative equipment. * Works on high voltage equipment and follows proper lock-out/tag-out procedures. * Troubleshoots and repairs refrigerated HVAC package units. * Orders parts, maintains inventory levels and reads technical manuals. * Maintains current knowledge of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's policies, procedures and schedules to insure minimal interruption to business operations and to prioritize projects appropriately. * Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations. * Demonstrate actions and behaviors that reinforce the Company's Mission and Values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion and Dedication. * Ensure prompt and discreet notification to management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations. * Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times. * Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. * Perform other duties as assigned.
