This is an intermediate position where the employee works under general supervision to perform a variety of maintenance duties. Performs all aspects of at least one of the major maintenance trades described below. Typical duties may include, but would not be limited to those listed below.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical

Install, maintain, and repair generators, transformers, switchboards, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, air conditioning units, conduit systems and other transmission equipment. Locate and diagnose problems in electrical systems and equipment.

Calculate load requirements of wiring or electrical systems and equipment. Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical controls.

Plumbing

Install, maintain, and repair water, steam, gas, or other types of plumbing and piping systems. Locate fixtures, equipment, and pipes from drawings and other specifications.

Operate various cutting and threading machines. Select and install appropriate valves and regulators. Calculate standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow, and size of pipe, and verify that specifications are met.

Refrigeration Mechanic

Clean, repair, troubleshoot, set up, and operate HVAC equipment. Interpret readings from gauges, meters, and recording devices.

Make adjustments to assure effective and efficient unit operation while controlling temperature, humidity, volume, and velocity of air and system balancing. Overhaul complete HVAC systems when required.

MACHINE MAINTENANCE

Set up and operate machine shop equipment. Fabricate replacement parts to close tolerances.

Calculate standard computations relating to dimensions of work tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining. Wire and troubleshoot standard machine controls from schematics. Repair and maintain production and mechanical equipment.

Other Responsibilities

Check, adjust, and lubricate operating machines. Prepare surface and paint walls, ceilings, etc.

Construct or repair simple wood structures such as floors, work benches, skids, crates, etc. Utilize a wide variety of electrical testing and measuring instruments and/or a wide variety of tools such as welders, cutting torches, drill presses, and other power tools. Assist in snow removal when required.Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Requires the ability to apply knowledge normally gained through 3 to 5 years experience in at least one of the maintenance trades in addition to 2 years of post high school vocational training or equivalent. Additional requirements for the specific trades are:

Electrical

Must be familiar with the provisions of the National Electrical Code and capable of meeting those requirements.

Plumbing

Must be familiar with local and state plumbing codes and able to comply with standards.

Refrigeration Mechanic

Experience with the uses of refrigerant gases and repairs of HVAC systems and controls.

Machine Maintenance

Knowledgeable of the working properties and selection of common metals, and the fitting and assembly of parts into mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities The Program Manager II possesses leadership skills and has responsibility for the company's planning and performance of major business programs throughout all phases of the program lifecycle. The Program Manager II is responsible for the cost, schedule, quality, customer satisfaction and technical performance of company programs and for using that successful execution to drive future growth. This position will be required to forecast sales, new business, and gross profit on their programs, and to meet the strategic and operational goals of the business unit. The Program Manager II will direct a program management/ engineering staff in achieving excellence in program execution through the use of Earned Value and other techniques to identify program issues and monitor program performance. . Manages programs that typically have combined contract values of over $50M and will include an established development program for a major component or small system and managing multiple programs (depending on size, impact and risk). Programs are based on established technologies that require the application of critical thinking and advanced principals/concepts. Moderate future growth potential. Responsibilities & Tasks: Leadership * Understands and communicates strategic plans to the team. Relates how the program accomplishes the strategic plans of the Company and Business Unit, and fosters and recognizes strategic thinking. Develops prioritized plans within the assigned team, and executes the program to that plan. Leads and inspires cross functional teams to achieve successful execution of company programs and to expand their technical knowledge. Holds self and team accountable for high performance standards and coaches the team to effectively manage changing priorities. * Implements continuous improvement efforts to meet customer requirements by fostering an entrepreneurial and collaborative workforce. Creates staffing plan and assesses available resources and new hiring needs. Selects, mentors, and develops subordinates and assigns work for most efficient utilization of personnel, reviewing their activities to assure quality performance. Makes appropriate promotional, compensation/rewards and staffing decisions. * Acts as principal point of contact with senior management to assure management understanding of program status, fosters resolution of problems, and coordinates efforts among management as necessary to assure corrective action. Customer * Builds, develops, and maintains close customer relationships, anticipates customer needs, creatively addresses customer issues, and continually pursues open communications to strategically expand the business. * Assures customer satisfaction in terms of product performance, delivery, cost and contracted scope as the primary point of contact for the customer. Provides sufficient details of program performance, risk assessments, and identification of opportunities for improvement. * Maintains customer scorecards, and contests rating when data indicates inaccuracies. * Coordinates with marketing personnel and assists in the preparation and implementation of marketing plans. * Conducts periodic program status review meetings with customers and execution team to monitor program execution and collect program performance feedback, risk assessment inputs, and identification of opportunities for improvement. * Assures satisfactory field service support to customer as required. Schedule * Plans and executes programs per contractual obligations, directly and/or indirectly managing the performance of multiple suppliers, affiliates, or peer organizations. Establishes and monitors adherence to master program plans and schedules, preparing and issuing operational and program directives and controlling product configuration. * Coordinates design for manufacturability efforts, and ensures smooth transition to production for development programs. Technical * Leads high level technical discussions, both internally and externally, to ensure all technical requirements are met. * Oversees implementation and maintenance of EIA-748 Earned Value Management (EVM) Guidelines for effective program control across all programs. Uses organizational tools to accomplish accurate Estimates at Completion (EAC). * Continually benchmarks processes to best practices. Assists teams in exploring new concepts that will deliver innovative solutions and significant advancements. * Defines and directs the performance of program functional task elements such as procurement, manufacturing, quality, configuration, logistics, administrative functions, contracts administration, facilities, etc. Financial * Leads major proposals through the Business Acquisition Process. Accountable for initial program planning including proposal philosophy coordination, proposal preparation; statements of work specifications and the estimation of product or service costs. Assists in the development of contract negotiation strategies with customers, suppliers, and affiliates to achieve financial objectives.
