The General Maintenance Mechanic will repair and maintain buildings and mechanical equipment by performing the following duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. *

  • Two years general maintenance or construction experience.

  • Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.

  • Have knowledge of basic tools and maintenance procedures.

Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties

  • Handle all moves, office furniture, shop equipment, construction material, etc.

  • Do small construction projects such as office additions and remodel projects, including metal sub-framing and sheetrock work.

  • Perform assigned general maintenance work orders.

  • Make basic repairs to buildings, grounds and equipment as needed.

  • Assist the other general maintenance mechanic and other trades as needed.

  • Operate forklift when necessary, with training.

  • Keep van and tools serviced as needed.

  • Will be on call for emergency issues.

  • Clear ice and snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.

  • Complete other duties as assigned
