Maintenance Mechanic C - Non-Exempt

The Maintenance Mechanic "C" is responsible for completing basic Electrical and Mechanical repairs on metal cutting machinery for manufacturing. Assists the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
Must have the ability to work independently and safely, in the performance of standard maintenance, repairs, and assigned duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Basic Knowledge Preventive / Predictive TPM and routine maintenance on production equipment CNC machines, Auto-floor Scrubbers
Assist troubleshooting issues and Assist repairing failures of production equipment.
Minor Electrical Repairs and / or replacement of fluorescent lamps, fuses and knowledge of multi-meter test equipment, safety awareness of industrial voltages
Proficient using a forklift, floor scrubbers, man lift
Metal Chip Processing/recycling: Collect, Identify, Drain, and Weight and prepare for shipment to various vendors
Monthly inspections: Ladders, Fluid Tanks, Overhead Cranes, Forklifts
Maintain shop floors: Sweep, mop and operate auto floor scrubber in a safe manner
Provide coolant and machine lubricants to the shop floor
Maintain and organize the oil room, recycled coolant and chip processing areas
Maintain coolant recycling and waste evaporation systems
Proficient using a plasma cutter and metal sawing equipment for destruction of non-conforming parts
Assist and participate in Rapid Improvement Events that lead to improvements and modifications to processes as a function of Continuous Improvement and process stability (e.g. 6S and Preventive Maintenance, Build Creform carts etc.).
Support all aspects of building maintenance/routine shop preventive maintenance as needed. (Basic Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical)
Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non-production equipment as directed. Examples: (Dust collectors, Wet & Dry type, Spill kits)
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Must be a "US Person" as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Participate in training as required
5-10% Domestic Travel required
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Some lifting, moving instrumentation, performing tests in various areas of the facility required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields, Basic Mechanics, Electrical, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
Preventive maintenance background
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Knowledge of OSHA standards: Lock Out/Tag Out, Hazard Communication, Fork Lift Certified, NFPA 70E Arc Flash (electrical safety)
Capable of using basic measuring tools: Micrometer, dial caliper, Electrical Multi-Meter etc.
Basic Computer skills
