Mechanic A1 - Maintenance

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Mechanic A1 - Maintenance.

The Mechanic A1 - Maintenance works directly under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, Maintenance, and has responsibility for tools, equipment, and completing all projects in a workmanlike manner.



Demonstrate knowledge related to modern construction, carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing practices, materials, and equipment

Four (4) years' experience in the mechanics/maintenance craft

Valid New Jersey Driver's License

Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) required

Possess a Black Seal License or must obtain one within two (2) years of employment

Knowledge of basic regulations governing safety relating to the mechanics/maintenance craft

Ability to perform tasks that require frequent heavy lifting

Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status


Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Operate trash and recycling vehicles

Expedite all work orders assigned in accordance with directions provided by Facilities Manager

Keep records on all projects in a manner set up by the Facilities Manager and maintain accounting records properly

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

Be available when called upon by the Supervisor or Central Administrators after the regular work day

Will be required to support projects and initiatives in other departments throughout CCSD on an as-needed basis

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Supervisor's designee

What You'll Be Doing * Responsible for the planning and execution of the successful operations of various food and beverage services (catering and concessions) * Responsible for the training, coaching & development of all front of house employees * Responsible for coordination, set up, service, and cleanup of group functions and special events in accordance with * Aramark standards and safety practices * Responsible for financial performance, to include labor and payroll * Inventories special function service ware, and front of house F&B items, and assists with ordering as needed * Communicate effectively with department in regards with daily operations * Manage the front of house operations proactively with the ability to fill all roles in a timely manner * Input and maintain menu items and reports in Appetize * Implements all Food Management standards in accordance with Aramark polices * Conducts Food Management audits in accordance with Aramark polices * Ensures that alcoholic beverages are served within the rules outlined by the New Jersey State Liquor Control Board & Aramark Alcohol polices * Creates and implements guest service standards for all front of house positions and ensures compliance in all areas.
