MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, Position #64069367, Jacksonville, Duval County

This position may be filled at the minimum of the pay grade ($24,579.62)

Provides maintenance and repair of a large state complex consisting of four (4) buildings and grounds at the Pearl Street

Complex, Jacksonville. The Pearl Street buildings range in size from three (3) to four (4) stories, which

house administrative functions and the State Office of Vital Statistics Vault (which is highly technical and contains a lot of mechanical machinery).

Repairs or replaces plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, and air conditioning systems as needed.

Performs preventive maintenance on all building equipment as assigned or scheduled by supervisor, maintaining and updating records.

Performs interior and exterior building repairs, painting, masonry, carpentry, as assigned, and performs furniture repairs as needed.

Assists in upkeep of exterior grounds and equipment as assigned.

Operates all tools related to performance of specific, assigned duties (power tools, e.g., drill press, band saw, circular saw, drills, bench grinder, etc.)

Writes up parts and/or supply lists needed to perform assigned duties.

Drives private vehicle in performance of duties, holding valid Florida driver's license.

Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning system maintenance. Building repairs painting masonry, and carpentry.

Exterior grounds upkeep. Able to operate power tools.
