This position is part of the team responsible for planning, scheduling and parts acquisition for the Maintenance Department. This position is a key team member in developing, managing and controlling all aspects of planning for maintenance work.
Primary Accountabilities: Primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Developing and maintaining a safe working environment through compliance with Mueller Co. - Chattanooga's Health & Safety Program
Complying with the Maintenance Planner's roles and responsibilities defined in the planning, planned and unplanned work processes
Partner with Production Supervision and Maintenance to plan activities based on equipment, manpower, and spare parts availability
Review all completed work orders and ensure items requiring follow up are acted on appropriately and assist in tracking these actions to completion
Backlog management, including weekly and monthly backlog reviews, purging aged work orders as required
Creates PM procedures for new equipment; optimizes existing PM procedures as needed
Initiates purchase orders for parts, services and/or special tools for maintenance jobs
Secures and analyzes quotations and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
Assist with maintaining and organizing the plant's technical library ensuring all technical manuals are readily available when needed
Attend priority and planning meetings, outage coordination meetings and schedule review meeting and be prepared to actively participate as required
Communicate thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management in all supervisory duties
Remain flexible in lean technique implementation and principles such as 5S, standardized work, waste identification and elimination, value stream mapping, team based multi-skilled workforce, one-piece flow technology, visual factory concepts, and total productive maintenance

Excellent communication skills

Familiarity with the maintenance processes
Proven team player and work well in a fast paced environment
A high school diploma is required and a journeyman's certificate, a related technical diploma, or engineering degree is preferred.
Candidate with demonstrated experience and proficiency in maintenance planning in a manufacturing environment will be given preference
