Job Description Job Description The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role within the Manufacturing industry, ensuring that all operational equipment and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely. This position is critical as it directly impacts the productivity and quality of services delivered by the organization.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing maintenance procedures, managing maintenance budgets, and leading a team of maintenance professionals to achieve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Developing and implementing maintenance strategies processes and procedures that minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions. Supervising and managing the maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
Conducting regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations. Managing maintenance-related budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep. Liaising with external contractors and suppliers to acquire high-quality services and materials for maintenance projects.
Implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance procedures and reduce costs. Tasks & Duties Planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work. Ensuring that all maintenance work is documented according to internal and external requirements.
Monitoring the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, planning re-orders to avoid delays in maintenance activities. Training and developing maintenance staff to enhance their skill sets and efficiency. Education & Certification Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field is typically required.
Relevant certifications such as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly advantageous. Extensive experience in maintenance, including a minimum of five years in a managerial role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry. Proven track record of successfully managing budgets, teams, and large-scale maintenance projects. Strong understanding of compliance and safety regulations pertinent to the industry.
