Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a background in leadership, as well as maintenance activities.

This position requires that the candidate oversee the team located in a number of places on the base and ensure they are meeting/exceeding schedules as provided.

A familiarity with preventative maintenance activities, ability to manage to a schedule, ability to identify and implement process improvements, solid communication skills, ability to understand and work with customers, vendors, contractors and team members, and commitment to the task at hand are all necessary to be successful in this position.

In addition, this position must understand the importance of inventory/material control including inventory management, time stamp requirements and ensure the continued licensing and certification of the team is maintained.

Solid written and verbal skills are required, as is face-to-face communication with the customer.

Candidate will be required to assist in determining/analyzing machines for ordering parts for maintenance and repair; additionally, candidate will be required to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to.

Position may require forklift certification.

Position requires agility and flexibility as the work is diverse and located in multiple locations.

Solid computer skills are also required.

Current or Active Security Clearance is Required.


High school education.

Additional OSHA, HAZMAT, Military training/certificates are value-added.


A minimum of 6 years' related leadership/management experience and experience in a maintenance environment is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 5/21/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-19T00:00 Job Summary The Aircraft Mechanic III (Maintenance Control) is required to Release Aircraft Safe for Flight, monitor maintenance SCIR documentation via the NALCOMIS /OOMA systems, review Aircraft Weight and Balance forms for accuracy, direct scheduled/unscheduled maintenance actions to meet operational tasking identified by the government/flight schedule, brief aircrew prior to Functional Check Flights (FCF), review aircrew documentation of aircraft FCF performance, authorize cannibalization, coordinate Depot Level Inspection/Repair actions, assign workload priorities, manage awaiting maintenance and material status, manage T/M/S Aircraft configuration, screen, maintain and sign Aeronautical Equipment Service Records, Aircraft Logbooks, liaison with Quality Assurance, liaison with Projects Coordinator, understand Navy Working Capital Fund concept, notify Govt. Oversight QAR's of all Flight Critical, Safety of Flight, and mandatory QA inspections, monitor high time components, establish supply priorities, and coordinate work center maintenance tasking to meet daily Flight Schedule and Ground Test Requirements. Coordinate monthly maintenance planning meetings and publish/sign monthly maintenance plan in accordance with the current COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series. Principle Accountabilities * Direct, coordinate and monitor all maintenance/material actions necessary to service, repair and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness to include tasks that are complex to extreme difficulty. * Direct and Coordinate the repairs, replacement and rebuild aircraft structures of complex to extreme difficulty. * This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. * Direct and coordinates the inspections of airframe components for fluid leaks, cracks and other damage. * Release Aircraft Safe for Flight, monitor maintenance SCIR documentation via NALCOMIS/OOMA system, review Aircraft Weight and Balance Forms for accuracy, direct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions. * Troubleshoot, remove, replace and repair aircraft structural and hydraulic system components. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft systems. Knowledge & Skills * Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural, power plant, modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems. * Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical guidance and expertise in restoration of equipment condition and operation. * Reads and interprets manufacturers' publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Experience & Education * Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have completed the Navy Class "C" for Maintenance Material Control Management or equivalent. * Shall have completed the maintenance control school, or have maintenance control experience for a minimum of five years at the Organizational Level in the applicable T/M/S aircraft. * Shall have a minimum of 10 years of US Navy or USMC Organizational level aircraft maintenance experience, to include 1 year applicable to aircraft they will be supporting * Must have a high school diploma or GED. * Must have a valid drivers' license and be eligible to qualify for and able to maintain a secret level clearance. * Recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, MH-60S or AV-8B aircraft strongly preferred.
