The Reliability Engineer manages the mill's predictive maintenance program with an emphasis on vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, and overall machine health. Analyzes new technologies and makes recommendations to ensure high state of equipment reliability. He/she will be expected to manage individual projects and work with other members of the team to bring projects to successful completion. The individual will also support the Paper mill as a primary customer, while acting as a mechanical resource across the entire mill and help decision making in all areas to provide the highest availability and reliability at the lower cost.
Reliability Engineer responsibilites include the following:
Must follow Ahlstrom-Munksjö's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
Develop improved systems for mechanical reliability in the facility.
Identify and lead maintenance/capital projects to insure all projects are delivering highest possible return.
Lead Root cause failure analysis for department
Superivse mill's predictive/preventive and lubrication maintenance technicians
Assist in developing training systems for craftsmen
Provide guidance for mill's predictive/preventive maintenance program
Provide technical support during outages
Work with craftsmen to specify, plan and execute repairs and installations of new equipment
Promote a safe work environment through daily job specific safety discussions with Team and addressing all safety hazards/issues in a timely manner.

Good written and verbal communication skills as well as teamwork skills
Fluent written and spoken English
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and maintenance support at an industrial operation is preferred
Experience with use of CMMS systems, JD Edwards preferred
Demonstrated/proven reliability management skills and a proven ability to lead capital improvement projects from inception to conclusion
Experience managing compliance programs for boilers, turbines, elevators, and tanks
In-depth knowledge of vibration analysis, predictive/preventive maintenance methods, and lubrication best practices
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential
Must be able to effectively interact with a wide range of people including production and salaried employees, and regulatory personnel
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and methodical approach to work
The ability to work in a normal office environment to include sitting or standing for long periods of time, operating various standard office equipment, carrying paper documents/files, reaching, and bending, speaking on the telephone. May include safely walking through our manufacturing plant and wearing required personal protection gear (i.e., hearing and foot protection).
