Position Summary

Maintenance Manager

Purple is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join their facility in Grantsville, Utah. A successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment and will be responsible for all facets of the Maintenance Team.

The Maintenance Manager will report to the Director of Maintenance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop the preventive/predictive maintenance program in conjunction with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff.

  • Provide leadership, coaching and technical direction to the Maintenance and Operations staff.

  • Lead a technical training/continuous improvement program to enhance employee knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Implement a TPM program to support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

  • Build and maintain a strong partnership culture between the Maintenance and Operation teams to support TPM.

  • Maintain an effective lockout-tagout program to ensure employee safety during equipment shutdowns.

  • Monitor equipment performance and establish effective Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

  • Maintain all production machinery as well as machinery in and around the various facility buildings.

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to prioritize projects.

  • Maintain high shop safety standards as per Purple policies & procedures.

  • Effectively and consistently communicate company wide goals regarding safety, sustainability, efficiency, and performance to the Maintenance Team.

  • Manage personnel performance, including employee reviews, recommendations for coaching/performance improvement, disciplinary action, time and attendance, shift scheduling and overtime assignments.

  • Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.

  • Ensure expertise is available to maintain production equipment 24-7.

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to improve employee safety, production quality and equipment reliability.

  • Work with Engineering to test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Proficient with Lean Manufacturing practices including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and able to instruct others in these practices.

  • Effective leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability in coaching and developing others.

  • Ability to support MRO staff with sourcing and the purchase of equipment parts, materials and supplies.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems as well as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).

  • Management of a CMMS program.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to create and submit budgetary recommendations/requests regarding capital expenditures and maintenance repairs.

  • Ability to prepare management update reports related to schedule performance, job costs tracking, and on time performance

  • Ability to coach and support staff after-hours.

  • Ability to overcome obstacles and demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving objectives.

  • Understands interdepartmental impact of individual decisions and actions.

  • Demonstrates determination and persistence while treating others with respect.

  • High degree of independence, judgment, attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Experience:

  • 7-plus years of leading/managing a Maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.

  • 10-plus years of equipment repair experience.

  • Project management/capital improvements and budget management experience.

  • Maintenance management software and the development of a preventive and predictive maintenance program.

  • Development of TPM program in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science related discipline is preferred.

Position Summary Position Summary Purple is looking for an MRO Clerk to join our Maintenance Team in Grantsville, Utah. This position is responsible for requesting, stocking and organizing the Maintenance department's spare parts crib. Inventory is managed via an electronic maintenance management system and requests are submitted to Purchasing department for the actual purchase. This position may develop into a buying position in the future. Reports to: Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Shift Schedule: Thursday - Saturday, 7am-7:30pm and every-other Sunday. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * Responsible for requesting parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications. * Lead the restocking of spare parts through all phases; requesting, receiving, and inventory control. * Ensure all parts and materials within parts cage are orderly and kept to the highest housekeeping standards. Perform space management activities to ensure safe and orderly storage of materials in conjunction with good material handling and inventory control methodologies. * Execute cycle counts to verify physical inventories as required. Adjust min/max levels as needed to improve and refine inventory levels. * Forecast purchasing needs based on historical consumption data. * Build, develop and manage professional relationships with key suppliers and customers, building effective partnerships. * Request materials and services as per negotiated and appropriately approved rates. * Track, expedite and document the status of all outstanding requests; provide periodic updates/reports. * Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods with users, vendors and others. Root cause, and update process(s) to prevent future occurrences. * Continually develop expertise to support growth for company and new projects. Performance Standards: * Performs duties safely by following all company policy's and safety regulations. Reports any unsafe acts or conditions. * Timeliness and accuracy in the recording of inventory. * Responds quickly and accurately to internal customer inquiries. * Effectively participates as part of the Maintenance Team, assisting where appropriate and requesting assistance when needed. * Maintains regular, timely, and consistent attendance. Education/Experience/Skills: * 1+ years sourcing experience in MRO buying. * Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment materials and components. * Experience with setting-up, and maintaining a parts room is a plus. * Superior communication skills, both verbal & written. * Proficient computer technology skills; Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills. CMMS experience is a plus. * Experience with Lean Manufacturing is a plus. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously. * Self-motivated and results driven work ethic. * Strong analytical and problem-resolution ability. * Organization and time management skills are a must.
