Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager will plan, organize, staff and direct all maintenance functions at the facility. This includes safety and quality compliance, staff management and development, develops a high performance work team, coordinates outside contractors, procures maintenance parts, preventative maintenance, outage planning, troubleshooting and analysis, timely issue resolution, cost control and pipeline improvement.

The position requires extensive experience in project management, manufacturing facility maintenance, supervision of maintenance technicians, and hands-on experience with industrial electrical and hydraulics.

Effectively lead department staff by coaching, developing, communicating, delegating, and holding staff accountable. Create a team oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs and the Company.

Provide opportunities for training and development within the maintenance department.

Appropriately communicate department objectives and delegate work tasks, as necessary, to accomplish goals.

Flow down communication regarding safety, best practices, company policies or other to Maintenance employees.

Reinforce and champion the idea and culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement; motivate the team to raise pipeline improvement projects.

Develop, implement and maintain maintenance plan and specific maintenance profiles for all key equipment. Track equipment approaching their scheduled maintenance and distribute worksheets and work orders to appropriate work section. Maintain and update work order files.

Coordinate all facilities and/or machine repair activities.

Coordinate, direct and supervise construction and equipment repair activities to ensure conformance to established timeline, cost and quality of workmanship.

Maintain repair parts and support equipment inventory to support maintenance and repair activities. Contact vendors for pricing, part availability and lead-time. Order parts and maintain inventories including critical spare parts, consignment parts, consumables, other.

Revise maintenance work schedules according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines and equipment.

Participate in daily TOC walk.

Communicate work order status as required.

Analyze and publish daily/monthly/quarterly/annual reports on Key Performance Indicators and other reports necessary to help drive optimal forecasting and decision making for the maintenance, as well as operations team.

Align and systematically track business performance against plan; understand deviations and provide insights and corrective actions to management.

Collaborate with Corporate, Segment, Division and Business Unit management on ad hoc and ongoing analysis.

Comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations, as well as all Company policies and procedures.

Maintain proper employment levels through effective selection, interviewing and training of personnel.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/or Experience:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; preferably in science, engineering, or technology

Minimum of five years related experience in a manufacturing environment; Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to analyze and interpret data

Effective problem solving skills

Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, to convey ideas and processes

Strong leadership; ability to define team vision and hold others accountable for results

Drive, determination, and a self-disciplined approach to achieving results

Sense of urgency and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of simultaneous projects

Ability to complete work assignments accurately and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal

Self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision

Strong organization, planning and time management skills

Team Oriented

Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Oracle experience preferred

Ability to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends as required

Job Description The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will improve performance of productive equipment, preserve plant physical assets, and control maintenance labor and material costs to achieve plant performance goals. Forecast and control plant capital spend to maximize investment value. Insure compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, the Occupational Safety & Health Act, and other regulations and standards. Key Responsibilities of the Role * Protect the environment, and the company's good name and assets from harm by meeting all applicable environmental regulations and responding immediately to potential violations. * Protect the company's employees through focus on ergonomic issues and employee safety during both the planning and execution of capital projects, and enforcement of factory safety regulations such as lock out/tag out for outside contractors and company employees. * Develop, monitor and control the annual capital budget, maintenance expenses, and utility budgets. * Manage capital and facility maintenance projects and resources through timely equipment installation, service and repair. * Develop ideas and projects to reduce utility and energy costs. * Support the efficient operation of the Plant through effective utilization of Engineering and Facility Maintenance resources. * Assist and oversee maintenance of the plant equipment, buildings, and other assets to protect these assets and reduce equipment related downtime. * Research and develop new processing techniques to improve quality of product and production efficiencies. * Establish departmental goals that maintain focus on improving line efficiencies and product quality. * Determine equipment capabilities for new or revised factory layouts. * Evaluate production and packaging needs for Capital Equipment. * Participate on the Food Safety and HACCP Team. * Assist and partner with business leaders on implementation of process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean/Heinz Global Production System (HGPS)), including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation. * Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions * Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list * Manage and evaluate the Finance staff including but not limited to performance management and employee Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field is required * Minimum of 7 years of increasing responsibility in plant engineering and project management in manufacturing * Minimum of 3 years of experience with full cycle capital project management from appropriation preparation to field start up. * Minimum 5 years' experience working with process and high speed/automation equipment. * Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, OSHA safety regulations, EPA regulations * Working knowledge of boiler and compressed air operations in order to evaluate operating efficiencies. * Must be familiar with maintenance management system operations. * Clear understanding of engineering economics and project justification. * Leadership skills gained through course work, seminars, and experience in supervisory positions in maintenance and/or supervising contractors on capital projects.
