Maintenance Manager

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Manager to optimize our Custom Manufacturing Services organization. This St. Louis, MO, role is full-time, on- site.

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Highschool

Required Experience (3+ Yrs.):

• cGMP

• Experience in Pharmaceuticals, Food Production, or other regulated industry.

• Change management.

• OSHA Life Safety Permit.

Preferred Experience:

• Management or Supervisory Experience

• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, facilities maintenance, or fabrication.

• Capital expenditure budget development and project management.

• Preventive/predictive maintenance.

• Validation of new or replacement equipment.

The Avantor facility in St. Louis, MO, supports Custom Manufacturing Services. The facility includes 40,000 sq. ft. for manufacturing, an 18,000 sq. ft. warehouse, 5,000 sq. ft. for research and development, and 2,000 sq. ft. for quality control.

The Maintenance Manager:

• Is accountable for ensuring safe and efficient operations of all facilities electro/mechanical systems, while assisting Technicians with complex diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair.

• Is responsible for overseeing the preventive maintenance program for the facility while managing inventory and budget for parts as well as use of outside contractors for janitorial, waste removal or trades specialists.

• May provide oversight to lower-level supervisor(s).

• Manages the overall maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds.

• Maintains compliance with all procedures, policies, and regulations while ensuring timely response to regulatory issues and inspection findings.

• Collaborates on the facilities' organizational structure to accommodate growth and change in priorities.

• Manages system of record for PM's.

• Collaborates on IOQ development and execution in partnership with Engineering and Quality functions.

• Determines needs for equipment leases, purchases, and services.

• Negotiates contracts with vendors and maintains vendor relationships.

• Ensures that projects meet specifications and budgets.

• Ensures that necessary licenses and permits are obtained.

• May be responsible for facilities' security and/or act as liaison to leasing and property management organizations and planning commissions.

• Manages a team of entry/intermediate professionals or Supervisors with a focus on setting objectives, plans and tactics with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the department.
