Job Summary

Under general direction, is responsible for performing administrative professional work coordinating projects and activities between various divisions, departments, public agencies, and private sector representatives. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitors and evaluates assigned programs and projects, sets deadlines, analyzes issues, and provides recommendations.

  • Implements, monitors and evaluates new programs.

  • May assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.

  • Prepares written reports and presentations on project progress and results.

  • Works to ensure coordination between divisions within the department.

  • Organizes and prepares written summaries of project reports and action plans in a timely manner.

  • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with preferable coursework in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel (macros, server connections, dashboard creation).

  • Strong financial analysis and/or budgeting ability.

  • Data visualization experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized and efficient.

  • Curious nature and desire to find solutions.

One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

  • Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard, typewriter, and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, bending, and twisting to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are in an office environment.

  • Ability to develop and implement innovations towards improving the department's operations and delivery of services.

  • Ability to assess data processing needs and submit requests to the Information Technology Services Department.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing with all levels of management.

  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate new programs.

  • Ability to work on assignments independently or within a team.

  • Ability to share specialized knowledge with others in the Department.

  • Ability to develop and implement innovations towards improving the Department's operations and delivery of services.

Coordinate closely with government program leads on risk management program elements to include the critical asset identification process, threat and hazard assessment, vulnerability assessment, risk identification, countermeasure planning, and packaging risk decision information for senior leader decision-making. Participate in various meetings, conferences, working groups with stakeholders to support risk management data gathering. Use various automated tools, databases, and other software programs to document, quantify, and coordinate program activities with other stakeholders. Prepare and deliver briefings to stakeholders and senior leadership, conduct site surveys and assessments at locations determined by government leads, collaborate with active duty and civil service government staff, counterparts across Army organizations and other government agencies. This position is located in San Antonio, TX.
