Responsibilities

1 Maintain a safe and clean work area per 6S standards.

2 Refer unusual or unsafe conditions to supervisor.

3 Know appropriate level of shop math as required.

4 Read and understand blueprints.

5 Know basic PLC and advanced machine controls.

6 Must have completed all outside studies per training program.

7 Have a complete set of the tools of the trade.

8 Must know operation of and how to start, run, stop & shutdown all production machines, equipment and support systems.

9 Use tool room equipment.

10 Perform maintenance and repair all production machines, equipment and support systems.

11 Make advanced electrical repairs.

12 Make advanced hydraulic repairs.

13 Do advanced welding (gas and electric).

14 Make clutch and bearing repairs.

15 Build and modify part chutes.

16 Fabricate sheet metal.

17 Layout and install plumbing.

18 Fabricate and fit bearings.

19 Scrape ways.

20 Maintain building and grounds.

21 Perform outside seasonal duties such as: sweeping, picking up of trash, debris and leaves, clear snow (using snow plow, snow blower and shovel) and salt.

22 Recognize problems, correct them and make recommendations on how to prevent them to your supervisor or support engineer. (Machine, Material, Tool)

23 Diagnose causes of machine malfunctions.

24 Keep inventory of parts.

25 Maintain proper documentation and communications to ensure efficient coordination between shifts and departments (e.g. quality, engineering, maintenance)

26 Orient when requested by supervisor.

27 Train lower labor grade employees within department.

28 Lead when mutually agreed.

29 Comply with all Quality Management System procedures and work instructions.

30 Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.
