FLSA/Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly (Full-Time)

Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 + Shift differential; Depending on Experience and other factors

Shift: 2nd - Weekend availability REQUIRED

Location: Wesley Willows Campus

Reports to: Director of Facilities and Grounds

Summary:

To perform routine maintenance duties, including rough carpentry, painting, simple plumbing, and basic equipment or facility repairs. Completes event setups as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Must read and follow all set-up instructions/drawings for events in Willows Arbor, Health Center, Personal Care, and the Town Center.

• Performs simple carpentry tasks, such as installing grab bars, towel bars, and hanging pictures.

• Repair/replace toilet tank hardware, open clogged drains and toilets, and other simple plumbing jobs.

• Perform minor patching and painting duties.

• Complete moves of resident furniture/personal items safely and without damage.

• Repair nonfunctioning by-pass doorways.

• Spot clean carpets using appropriate floor machines.

• Replace damaged carpet squares in the Health Center.

• Perform weekly vehicle preventative maintenance.

• Respond to the resident emergency alert system

• Maintains a safe and productive work environment.

• Assists with the resident relations program; handles all resident concerns promptly.

• Keeps the Director of Facilities and Grounds informed of all resident issues.

• Completes all special assignments/projects as the Director of Facilities and Grounds requires.

• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Minimum of one year experience in general building maintenance or janitorial services.

• Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.

• Must be able to perform simple tasks independently after being given specific instructions.

• Must have general knowledge of simple equipment used in the building trades.

• Must have a valid drivers license and a clean MVR (moving vehicle record).

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for 6-7 hours of an 8-hour shift.

• Must have the ability to occasionally climb stairs, stools, and ladders.

• Must have the ability to frequently stoop, bend, and kneel.

• Must have the ability to reach in front, sides, and overhead.

• Must be able to lift 25 to 75 pounds while walking or bending at the waist and knees.

• Must be able to frequently push, pull, or move carts and equipment, exerting a force of 50 to 75 pounds.

• Must be able to use wrists, fingers, and hands for repetitive firm grasping and use of hand tools.

Other federally regulated requirements:

• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.

• Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine and TB testing.

• Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis.

• Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
