Work to be performed

Lead and direct maintenance crew, making sure of all safety, quality, and environmental policies are followed. Must have knowledge of production manufacturing, an understanding of computers and programs such as Outlook, word and excel, familiar with OSHA and EPA regulations, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance work. This position will work directly with production, quality, and safety management to achieve the goals of the facility. Collaboration is key when coming up with solutions to issues that arise. Must be able to both give and receive feedback, coach others, train others, present in front of a team or group, and show strong time-management skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team, delegating tasks, working with contractors, be safety minded, be comfortable communicating over the phone and email with both internal and external personnel.

Production Manufacturing Maintenance experience of 3+ years is preferred.

Work Duties and Required Skills

  • Practice good customer service procedures as required by company customer service guidelines. Remember that Customer Service is a top priority at ADM ANI.

  • Customer Service Guidelines includes being prompt and courteous, loading customer's trucks according to ADM ANI procedures within a reasonable amount of time with minimum customer delays. Must be at application level of understanding of all MPC's, SOP's, and Work Instructions and be able to assist production and leadership team members with this understanding.

  • Work as a team player in all things. Notify Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager as necessary of any concerns, outages, or issues. Must work directly with members of the management team and also communicate constructively with all colleagues in the facility.

  • Communicate effectively with operators, members of management, contractors, regulatory officers, auditors, and team members outside of the Springfield Facility.

  • Ability to operate a fork truck, scissor lift, and other heavy equipment proficiently and in a safe manner OR be able and willing to learn.

  • Ensure that the maintenance team keeps up with required training, safety engagement tasks, housekeeping requirements, preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, etc. at all times.

  • Safely and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Be able to identify when outside help is required and seek that help as necessary. Follow all established plant and government safety rules. Be proactive in identifying equipment breakdowns, trends, opportunities, and improvement needs.

  • Work overtime as required based on customer demands and as directed by Springfield Management. Work call-in shifts as needed and create the maintenance call-in schedule monthly to ensure maintenance availability to the production team 24hrs a day.

  • Fill out necessary paperwork properly, including but not limited to, audit sheets, checklists, preventative maintenance forms, safe work permits, hot work permits, and ESLP lock-out/tag-out documentation. Basic computer and math skills are required.

  • Provide training as necessary to new employees and lesser skilled employees when opportunities arise.

  • Must be able to easily lift all materials, as the job requires. Lifting ability must be at least 55 pounds from the floor to a minimum height of 50 inches. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to work at heights using fall protection as needed.

  • Follow all plant rules of conduct at all times and ensure direct reports do the same.

  • Participate in investigations and colleague coaching as requested by plant Management. Must be comfortable giving feedback and coaching others on performance and job expectations.

  • Work directly with outside contractors to arrange visits, schedule work, schedule services, arrange equipment repairs, and other needs as they arise.

  • Act as part of the plant management steering team to lead the team successfully in safety, quality, and productivity / cost initiatives and goals.

  • Work with finance personnel to order, receive, and inventory parts and services

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
