Job Duties
This position provides general building maintenance services throughout the DMV properties and the Capital West agencies. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance functions, making minor repairs to equipment and machinery, assembling, disassembling, relocating, and repairing furniture, restocking restroom supplies, and performing general cleaning tasks on an emergency basis. This position is also responsible for collecting and properly destroying confidential materials within the agency and inspecting the work of other housekeeping personnel.
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition, DMV serves many businesses, including dealers, fuel tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
Some knowledge of the basic building maintenance functions, including plumbing, cleaning, general maintenance, and minor repairs.
Demonstrated ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to complete written work order reports.
Ability to lift to 60 pounds.
