  • Supervises and assigns job tasks to maintenance employees.

  • Plans and organizes work flow for general maintenance crews.

  • Inspects work for completeness.

  • Reviews work orders and job requests; determines amount of labor and material needed for job completion; and estimates time and materials needed to complete job orders.

  • Maintains discipline of employees, recommends personnel action for infractions of policy and deals with other personnel related issues.

  • Reviews and inspects the work progress and the completed job tasks of employees to meet quality assurance standards.

  • Assigns and reassigns employees between jobs, projects, and across trades based on workload, need or priorities.

  • Coordinates schedules with other foreman with projects overlapping or when conflicts occur with other work groups.

  • Assists with maintaining adequate inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools.

  • Advises school principals with technical matters concerning projects in the building.

  • Informs the Director of Maintenance and the Assistant Superintendent of Operations of the general physical condition of the school system's facilities, equipment and sites.

  • Subject to call seven days a week, 24 hours per day in cases of emergencies that may threaten the school system's property or equipment.

  • Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
