The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for managing the development of maintenance personnel while providing technical support to improve plant's maintenance/reliability/TPM program. Also, will support large and small-scale manufacturing projects for two facilities. The selected individual works closely with other staff members and is responsible for aligning support to meet the facility's needs, designing, specifying and implementing manufacturing processes. In addition, the Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in our lean efforts as we continuously strive to improve our processes and reduce waste. This will be a 2nd & 3rd Shift work schedule until training for maintenance personnel is completed. Will include periodic support on all shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide training & technical support to the maintenance & production staff in reducing equipment/process downtime and quality issues through RCFA, counter measures and preventive measure implementation.

  • Develop metrics for evaluating department effectiveness; monitor and improve performance

  • Work with the leadership team to develop, support and participate in Kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve material flow.

  • Develop a plan to identify and correct training needs and skill gaps for all maintenance personnel.

  • Establish machine/process settings/standards, quality standard, operator standard work and PM programs for new and existing equipment.

  • Lead new equipment specification, evaluation, selection, purchase and support on-site installation

  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementation of new processes, process changes, or significant manufacturing footprint changes.

  • Provide support to manufacturing operations including new product introductions, cost savings analysis, quality initiatives, and compliance initiatives.

  • Continuously improve the reliability of the facilities and equipment including operating cost reductions.

  • Ensure equipment satisfies internal and external requirements for safe operation.

  • Travel between the El Campo and East Bernard facilities as needed.

  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical/control engineering field, or equivalent experience required.

  • 3 - 5 years of Project Management/Engineering experience to include Project Management.

  • 3 - 5 years in Training Personnel

  • Organized, attention to details, excellent analytical/problem solving and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

  • Skills with Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement techniques.

  • CNC programming knowledge and/or experience.

  • Woodworking equipment knowledge (operational, technical and maintenance knowledge).

  • Excellent computer skills including ability to create/modify drawing in AutoCAD or equivalent software.
