Job Description:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general to advanced maintenance and repair forthe location; ensuring that the location meets local-state- federal laws and regulations; maintaining controlover the approved maintenance budget; performs all other responsibilities as directed by the business oras assigned by management. This is a non-exempt position and typically reports to the General Manageror Assistant General Manager, depending on local requirements.Essential Functions: Inspects, diagnoses and performs repairs (within guidelines of expertise and in conjunction withlocal-state- federal health and safety guidelines) Maintains; small appliances, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry Ensures the physical structure and equipment are in safe operating condition as per regulationsissued by local-state- federal health and safety authorities Coordinates repairs within approved budgetary guidelines Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and records for all systems and equipment Performs landscaping and snow removal where applicable

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment: Requires a minimum 1 year experience in maintenance field Requires knowledge of the following trades: landscaping (where applicable), small appliancerepair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry; certificate of completion of courses in thesetrades preferred Requires a clean driving record; ability to pass HMSHost MVR background check required Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing 80lbs. Requires the ability to perform tasks while on a ladder Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates from extreme heat to extreme cold Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and armmotions

We are conveniently located close to Routes 80, 287, and 46. We are looking for a self-motivated, disciplined individual to be responsible for the efficient operation of our Fabrication department. In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Plant Manager and you will be responsible to perform the following:<br />  </p> <p><strong>Engineer Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Performs standard characterization procedures (such as optical microscopy, crossed-polarizer testing, optical spectroscopy, surface orientation measurement, and polytype assessment) on crystals and substrates.</li> <li>Actively participates in the development, update and optimization of fabrication processes that meet the requirements and milestones of funded R&D contracts, as well as demands and specifications of internal and commercial customers.</li> <li>Provide support for customers when crystal, material or substrate information is needed to facilitate proper or effective use of our products.</li> <li>Performs and supervises technological steps of wafer fabrication including, boule separation, orientation, OD and flat grinding, wire sawing, laser marking, edge grinding in accordance with documented procedures.</li> <li>Work with engineers, scientists, and management team to identify needs for new and/or upgraded fabrication capabilities, and prepares the annual fabrication manpower, capital equipment and operational expense budgets.</li> <li>Prepares Appropriation Requests (AR’s) for necessary fabrication process and related equipment.</li> <li>Analyzes fabrication processes to determine process reliability and “bottlenecks”. Analyzes process/product failure modes and provides feedback for process optimization.</li> <li>Performs trouble-shooting, problem identification and corrective action activities when the fabrication equipment or process is not performing to standards, specifications or customer expectations.</li> <li>Trains new employees assigned to the fabrication department.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience/Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2-5 years of hands-on experience in the technology of semiconductor substrates, process control and manufacturing or engineered materials industry. BS in Engineering Technology or similar disciplines.</li> <li>Hands-on manufacturing experience with substrate characterization and use of optical, interferometric and other tools.</li> <li>General knowledge of semiconductor materials, technological processes used in their manufacturing and methods of materials characterization.</li> <li>Knowledge of substrate fabrication processes that include boule orientation, ingot slicing.</li> <li>Familiarity with statistical process control tools, such as Design of Experiments (DOE) or similar</li> <li>Working knowledge of ISO 9000 quality system requirements a strong commitment to developing and maintaining ISO compliant activities.</li> <li>Fluency with programs and tools used for data collection, analysis, modeling and plotting, such as Excel or similar.</li> <li>Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, Access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software).</li> <li>ITAR compliance requirement: Individual must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).</li> </ul> <p>Advanced Materials/II-VI Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
