Under direct supervision, the maintenance electrician will diagnose and make minor repairs to facility and equipment electrical systems and components, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, wires and cables. Level one electrician test malfunctioning machinery to determine repairs, and replace faulty electronic components such as relays, switches, motors, position sensing devices, and printed circuit boards. Level one electrician may also troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls, 480V,277V and110V circuits, PLC based controls and relay logic circuits. 1-2 YOE
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Perform a variety of ordinary maintenance, repair and installation operations on electrical equipment and wiring used in various plant departments, power house and offices.
Make adjustments, repairs or replacements to motors, portable electric tools, electric circuits and wiring.
Install small motors, lighting fixtures; repair or replace brushes, defective light switches; fans, solder connections, polish armature shafts and other related operations.
Detect faulty or defective material and notify supervisor.
Assist higher class electricians handling and tearing down equipment, stringing wires, bending conduit and other duties as directed. Tear down simple units, repair or replace defective parts or wiring and reassemble.
Tear down simple units, repair or replace defective parts or wiring and reassemble and rebuild relays.
The ability to read and write English.
Basic shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifciations, charts and tables
Use of adjustable measuring instruments requiring interpretation (e.g. dial indicators, hardness tester, height gages, intra-micrometers, level MAHR gages, micrometers, pitch gages, pressure gages, slab gages, Sunnen gages, vernier gages and calipers)
Basic Shop Math
Coordinate a high degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention
Uses judgement to plan or perform work within limitations of standard methods and procedures
Level of Education:
Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
Constant exposure to moderate noise
Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
