Maintenance Electrician

Position Title: Electrician

Pay Range: $22.00-$30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Purpose:

Performs skilled Electrical work. This is a seasonal/temporary position not to exceed 122 days that will be scheduled full-time hours.

Pre/Post Fair Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 3:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. May be asked to work Saturday or Sunday.

Fair Schedule:

(Day): Wednesday through Sunday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.

(SWING): Wednesday through Sunday, 3:30PM - 12:00AM.

Schedule subject to change based on business needs.

Essential Functions:

• Installs a variety of electrical equipment and fixtures for buildings and mechanical projects, including generators, transformers, switchboards and lighting control systems.

• Installs and removes temporary electrical for events.

• Maintains electrical equipment and fixtures to ensure proper and safe working conditions.

• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment and fixtures as needed throughout buildings and facilities.

• Uses test instruments such as ammeters and voltmeters.

• Operates heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, scissors lift, etc.

• Applies National Electrical Code (NEC) to all installations.

• Orders, maintains and stores electrical supplies and equipment.

• Maintains the facility's Energy Management System.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must possess a valid California driver's license to operate a utility cart and other equipment.

• At least 3 years experience as an Electrician required.

• Experience in safely operating heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, scissors lift, etc. required.

• Must be familiar with common safety rules and practices required in the electrical profession, including National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.

• Good customer service skills and the ability to work well with others a must.

• Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.

• Must be available to work 5 days per week, on either morning or swing shift between mid-July and mid-August.

Preferences:

• Familiarity with the layout and facilities of the OC Fair & Event Center

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, however louder noise levels may be experienced during outdoor events and when in larger event buildings.
