Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking an experienced Electrician and/or an Electronic Technician to provide technical support to our team at our Promontory, Utah facilities.


Role description &

Responsibilities:

Position requires the knowledge and experience to understand and troubleshoot from electrical/instrumentation schematics. Troubleshoot and repair typical industrial electrical equipment, i.e. perform maintenance on robotics, air compressors, electric generators, DC & AC motor controllers, overhead cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics, camera systems, and security systems. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on industrial refrigeration systems, install raceways, enclosures, lighting systems, wiring systems/devices, motors, pumps and related industrial electrical equipment. The Technician is required to perform tasks like wiring circuits, replacing components and repairing electronic devices. Performs routine electronic preventative maintenance on plant equipment, on our X-Ray, CNC machines, Auto claves, Overhead Bridge Cranes, various PLC controlled systems etc. Maintenance technician also performs test readings using several different instruments, including semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, signal generators and digital multi meters.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School or GED and Utah State Journeyman Electrician License (not residential journeyman license). 2 year Associates Degree in Electronics is required for Electronic Technician designation.

  • 4-5 years of industrial or heavy commercial work experience

  • Able to work at high elevations and around hazardous materials

  • Maybe filled one level higher with required education and 6 years of work related experience

  • Must be able to pass Employee Possessor background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent work ethic and ambition

  • Preference will be given for Utah Journeyman, Master or Electrical Contractor license with industrial experience.

NGIS is currently seeking an experienced Principal Millwright to provide technical support to our Maintenance team at our Promontory facilities. Role description & Responsibilities: This Maintenance Crafts position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, as well as new construction on plant facilities, and equipment. While this position will have an emphasis on installation and maintenance of existing and new equipment and tooling, the candidate will also be expected to perform other mechanical skills to maintain and repair industrial plant processing equipment such as, mixers, pumps, air compressors and cranes. Candidates with experience in other mechanical disciplines such as metal fabrication, welding, overhead door repair, plumbing and pipefitting are preferred. Shift work and overtime are required and the successful candidate must pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA). Experience Requirements: * Minimum 5 plus years, recent, work experience in the millwright field. * Knowledge and experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings. * Knowledge and experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing precision tooling and processing equipment. Preferred: * Experience with welding and metal fabrication. * Experience with plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry and heavy equipment Skills & Qualifications: * Safety First attitude and personal work behavior * Actively engage in maintenance continuous improvement efforts. * Demonstrates initiative and ambition to become proficient in all job duties * Able to work to performance standards with little or no supervision Education/Certifications: * High School Diploma or GED. * Must be able to pass Employee Possessor background check Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
