2nd shift Sunday-Thursday 2:06pm-10:18pm

Federal-Mogul's Motorparts Division is looking for a 2nd shift Maintenance Electrician that will help support our Aftermarket Molding Group. As the Electrician, you will be responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatuses, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

You'll first hear from someone in Human Resources to schedule a phone screen, and then the next step will be a personal interview with our Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.

  • Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards using electronic test equipment and hand tools.

  • Replace motor bearings and rewire motors.

  • May diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machinery and equipment.

  • Follow safety rules, participate in safety meetings, notify supervisor of unsafe conditions and events hazardous to others and the environment.

  • Follow the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment using schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, operating manuals and written procedures in an industrial environment. Mechanically inclined.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience fixing machine breakdowns and completing preventative maintenance work in a timely manner in an industrial environment.

  • Able to work irregular work weeks; Sunday-Thursday, Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday

  • Experience troubleshooting electro/mechanical valves driven by 24 volt signal from processor, hydraulic pumps, directional valves and proportional valves controlled by speeds and pressures from the process parameters.

  • Intermediate computer skills. Presses are PC Windows-based driven.

  • Licensed lift truck driver preferred.

SCHEDULE: 2nd Shift: 3:12pm - 11:42pm; Mon - Fri SUMMARY: Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors and programmable computers following electrical code and blueprints, hand tools and testers. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine using hand tools. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Follows safety rules, participates in safety meetings, notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions and events hazardous to others and the environment. * Completes paperwork correctly and legibly * Maintains work area in a safe manner. * Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction. * Diagnoses and repairs faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards using electronic test equipment and hand tools. * Trains other electricians and apprentices. * Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, positioning sensing devices, using hand tools. * Replaces motor bearings and rewires motors. * Plan layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. * May diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machinery and equipment. * Employee can modify existing equipment such as programming, wiring changes and minor engineering upgrades. * Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement. * Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve. * Maintains a clean and orderly work area. * Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement. * Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them. * Performs related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Knowledgeable with facility, building number locations, plant utility operation etc. * P.C literate to complete CBT and electrical problem solving * Working knowledge of servo control systems. * Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. * Trains other electricians and apprentices. * Technical skills to operate hand and power tools to work safely in a maintenance environment. * Able to work independently of others with no supervision. * Ability to read and understand procedures, work instructions, safety rules and warning signs Ability to read and write well enough to perform mathematical calculations required repairing equipment. * Ability to trouble shoot complex electrical and electronic equipment. * Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs. * Works with high degree of skill and experience. * Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information verbally and written with a variety of staff. * Ability to trouble shoot and repair PLC systems. * Licensed lift truck driver. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds. * Ability to walk and move about, bend stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb (ascend and descend) ladders and work in stationary positions for long periods of time. * Normal or corrected visions necessary to read directions closely examine parts and distinguish colors. * Normal hearing to detect equipment malfunctions.
