Maintenance Department Manager

Job Summary Details

  • Oversees maintenance of injection molding, blow molding and packaging equipment.

  • Oversees activities of maintenance department.

  • Collaborates with Production Manager to schedule preventative maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for building world-class mechanical and preventative maintenance teams that will keep production equipment in excellent condition, keep lines running high efficiencies and maintain proper stock of parts.

  • Oversees outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility.

  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

  • Hires, trains, coaches and reviews performance of employees. Works with HR for employee discipline issues, terminations and recruitment.

  • Oversees safety team activities. Monitors and enforces safety requirements.

  • Builds a positive work environment.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Maintains time and maintenance records.

  • Develops capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.

  • Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Work Experience/KSA's

  • Required:

o 3-5 years Experience in the field of plant manufacturing maintenance

o 3-5 years Experience in supervising technical maintenance employees

  • experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  • Preferred:

o 5-7 years Experience in the field of plant manufacturing maintenance

o 5-7 years Experience in supervising technical maintenance employees

o 3-5 years Experience as a maintenance department manager

  • experience may include a combination of work experience and education

Competencies

  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, customers or general public.

  • Strong organization and planning skills with ability to multi task

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with all levels of the organization

  • Must work well under pressure in a very fast paced environment

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training

  • Planning, assigning and directing work

  • Appraising performance

  • Rewarding and disciplining employees

  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education

  • Minimum Required:

o Associate's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or vocational studies

  • Preferred:

o Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or other related field

Warehouse Department Manager Job Summary Details * Oversees activities of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, training and safety. * Maintain inventory accuracies of 98% or above. * Manage hours for cost per case. * Oversee shipping and receiving discrepancies, RMA's. * Schedule staff based on volume. * Training of forklift drivers, administer road tests and certification. * Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. * Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment. * Prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment. * Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control and purchasing. * Direct salvage of damaged or unused material. * Perform month end inventory and cycle counts to ensure physical inventories reconcile with books. * Ensure maintenance of clean, orderly and safe warehouse. * Participate in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities. * Build a positive work environment. * Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job. o Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
