Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for a Maintenance Custodian. This position is part-time, non permanent and is not eligible for benefits. Under general supervision, perform custodial duties and, under direct supervision, simple maintenance assignments requiring minimal building and trades skills.
This is a part-time, non-permanent position and not eligible for benefits. Typical hours will average approximately 69.5 hours per month. Please NOTE: According to Washington State Administrative Code (WAC) 357-04-045, if you have held a part-time hourly, or temporary position, after July 1, 2022 within Grays Harbor College, you will not qualify for the position and cannot be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, carpets, furniture, chalkboards; clean and sanitize restrooms/shower rooms and fixtures; empty trash containers; set-up and move furniture and equipment required for special events.
Use power equipment and hand tools such as broom, mop, squeegee, buffer polisher and vacuum required for the cleaning and custodial maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture; use ladders and hydraulic lifts when required in work assignments.
Replace light bulbs, tissue and restroom supplies; replace light switches and rewire lamps.
Lock and unlock buildings; secure building when faculties are not in use by checking for unlocked doors, windows; report any unauthorized occupants.
May manually or with self-propelled equipment remove snow or debris from sidewalks, stairs, driveways, entry ways; mow grass; help maintain grounds.
May operate motorized equipment.
Deliver packages.
Assist with motor pool and campus vehicle cleaning and safety checks.
Mowing, weed eating, blowing, pressure washing, and other grounds related activities.
Moving furniture and assisting with event setup.
Assisting with projects lead by skilled maintenance team members.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Physical ability to do required work; AND one year of experience in custodial or general maintenance work.
Valid Washington Driver's License.
This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive movement, bending, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and intermittent work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions; i.e. chemical labels, work orders, material safety datasheets, etc.
Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet with appropriate safety equipment.
