Carpenter Co. has an opening for a Maintenance Coordinator at our Piedmont, SC manufacturing branch. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance at the plant and performing minor repairs.

Your responsibilities as Maintenance Coordinator will include:

  • Responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance at the plant and performing minor repairs.

  • Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs and ensure equipment is in proper working order and available for use.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Maintains physical space including common areas and workstations, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.

  • Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved efficiently and per company protocol.

  • Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors (electrical, HVAC, plumbing etc.) needed to resolve problems.

  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility and assists in scheduling fire/sprinkler tests.

  • Serve on safety team and plant emergency response team.

  • Drive forklift including sit down, and scissor lift.

  • Maintains inventory of supplies and reorders as needed.

  • Routinely purchases items which require trips in a company provided vehicle.

  • Responds to after-hours alarms at the plant as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements

Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED, plus 2 or more years' specialty or technical training.

3+ years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Good communication and advanced math skills.

Must be forklift certified.

Ability to operate a sit down forklift, and scissor lift.

Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Familiarity with building operation systems.

Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a paid 30-minute lunch break.

Salary: Starting pay $24.25/hour
